Flywheel was launched in 2012 and is an American based company that resides in Omaha, Nebraska. The company was first initialized by David Davidson, Tony Noecker, and Rick Knudtson. They started to really pick-up in 2014. They raised about $1.2 Million from Seed Funding in 2014. In 2015 they grew to have 25 employees and the CTO had the Flywheel logo mark tattooed on himself. In 2016 they reached 50 employees, gave solutions to over 100,000 support tickets and also raised $4 Million dollars from series A funding. They reached 150 employees in 2018 and created a cloud platform that was downloaded over 150,000 times. Their mission has always been to, "... improve the lives of the millions of web designers and developers worldwide that build sites on WordPress." They provide WordPress hosting, VPS hosting, Cloud hosting, and reseller hosting. The company additionally built their web hosting infrastructure on top of the Google Cloud platform which allowed them to scale, be faster and be localized globally. Their dashboard is a creation of their own; which is simple and replaces cPanel.
